Clogging..... what is it?
Clogging is an authentic form of American folk dance, no wooden shoes involved! The shoes that could be used is much like a tap shoe, but is not required for the class, nor is any specific attire.
Come learn this lively form of dance! You will learn energetic footwork to a variety of styles of music. NO previous dance experience is necessary. All ages are welcome. Enjoy a style of dance that is GREAT exercise and a social night out. It's footstompin' fun for the whole family.
Sheryl Baker has been teaching, performing and judging Appalachian Clogging since 1990. She is the owner of River City Cloggers and the national competition team, The Clogging Premier. She has taught workshops and judged competitions across the United States and Canada. She danced at Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for 6 seasons and on "The Old Midwest Barn Dance" cable TV show for 2 years. Sheryl has coached many National Champion Soloist receiving overall individual awards and gold medals at The National Championships of America, AAU Junior Olympics and the NCHC National Championships. She was the recipient of "The Glen Hill Pioneer Award", recognized for her contributions to the clogging community in choreography, teaching and spirit.
Sheryl is especially gifted in teaching preschool aged and beginning level classes.
